Technology & Modernization

I've spent much of my career helping organizations modernize how they build, operate, and deliver technology.

My experience spans infrastructure, cloud, platforms, DevOps, product leadership, service management, AI, and large-scale technology transformation. The common thread has been helping teams move from complexity and fragmented systems toward something more scalable, usable, and effective.

Leading Change

Technology transformation is rarely just a technology problem.

The hardest work is usually aligning people, priorities, funding, architecture, operating models, and execution around a shared outcome.

That is where I have spent much of my career: helping organizations make meaningful change while keeping the work grounded in what teams and users actually need.

I have led modernization efforts that involved new platforms, new ways of working, new team structures, and significant shifts in how technology was delivered and supported.

Infrastructure, Cloud, and Platforms

A large part of my background has been focused on infrastructure and platform modernization.

That includes cloud-native environments, Kubernetes and container platforms, DevOps and PlatformOps, application platforms, service delivery, and the operating models needed to support them.

I'm especially interested in platforms that remove unnecessary complexity for engineering teams and create better ways for people to build, deploy, and operate technology.

Some of the most rewarding work has come from taking infrastructure that was slow, fragmented, or difficult to use and turning it into a shared capability that teams could rely on.

Technology That Creates Outcomes

I care less about technology for its own sake and more about what it enables.

Over the course of my career, I've helped build and grow technology teams and platforms that delivered millions of dollars in measurable value and savings, improved engineering productivity, reduced deployment time, and supported broader adoption of modern technology practices.

The details vary by organization, but the principle is usually the same: good technology should make something meaningfully better.

Staying Close to the Technology

As my roles have become more focused on leadership and strategy, I have tried to stay close enough to the technology to understand what is changing and what is possible.

I still enjoy testing new tools, building small applications, exploring automation, and learning by doing.

That has become even more important with AI.

There is a lot of noise around AI, but there are also meaningful opportunities to improve how people work, make decisions, automate repetitive tasks, and build new capabilities. I'm interested in understanding where AI creates real value and how organizations can adopt it thoughtfully.

AI, Automation, and What Comes Next

I spend time experimenting with AI, automation, and software because the best way for me to understand a new capability is often to use it.

That might mean building a tool to support hockey coaching, exploring automated content workflows, testing how AI can support decision-making, or finding better ways to turn information into useful outcomes.

These projects are not about becoming a full-time software developer. They are about staying curious, understanding emerging technology firsthand, and being better prepared to lead through the changes it creates.

How I Think About Technology Leadership

Technology should solve real problems.
Modernization should make things simpler, not just newer.
Platforms should enable teams rather than become obstacles.
Good leaders need enough technical understanding to ask better questions.
Change succeeds when people understand why it matters.
Learning should not stop when your title gets bigger.

Experience

My career has included leadership roles across technology platforms, infrastructure, cloud-native environments, DevOps, service management, product ownership, portfolio management, and digital transformation.
